NETGAIN RECOGNIZED FOR EXEMPLARY WORKPLACE PRACTICES
Honorable Mention recipient of prestigious Alfred P. Sloan Award
ST. CLOUD, MN (September 21, 2010) – Netgain announced today that it has been named an Honorable Mention recipient of the 2010 Alfred P. Sloan Award for Business Excellence in Workplace Flexibility.
This prestigious award recognizes employers of all sizes and types in the greater Twin Cities area, and across the country that are using workplace flexibility as a strategy to increase workplace effectiveness and yield positive business results.
“We are honored to receive this recognition for our workplace practices,” said Scott Warzecha, Netgain’s CEO. “We understand the importance of a work-life balance, and we strive to make Netgain an environment where employees can grow both professionally and personally.”
To prove their dedication to workplace flexibility, Netgain has formed an internal focus group that represents the wants of the company as a whole as it relates to flexibility and work-life balance. Netgain has implemented several initiatives as a result.
The Alfred P. Sloan Awards for Business Excellence in Workplace Flexibility are part of the national When Work Works project,an ongoing initiative of Families and Work Institute, the Institute for a Competitive Workforce (an affiliate of the U.S. Chamber of Commerce), and the Twiga Foundation. WFC Resources, Inc. is the official When Work Works partner for the Twin Cities region.
The selection process is rigorous. First, employers’ flexibility programs and practices are measured against national norms from Families and Work Institute’s National Study of Employers. Employees are then surveyed confidentially on their access to flexible work options, the supportiveness of the culture and on nationally tested measures of workplace effectiveness.
“As an honoree of the 2010 Sloan Award, Netgain ranks in the top 20% of employers nationally in terms of its programs, policies and culture for creating an effective and flexible workplace,” states Ellen Galinsky, president of Families and Work Institute. “In addition, what makes this honor so special is that employees have corroborated this, affirming that it is indeed an effective and flexible workplace.”
